Terms of Service.

The agreement between you and Jhatpat when you book through the platform.

Yurix Ventures Private Limited · CIN U62090UP2025PTC215977 · Version 1.1 · Effective 16 September 2026

The short version

Jhatpat is a marketplace. You book an independent, verified local partner through the app; the partner does the work; you pay in the app before the visit. Scope and price are fixed before you confirm, cancellation is free until one hour before the slot, every booking is covered by Jhatpat Assured, and our responsibility to you is limited to what you paid for that booking.

One of the ten Jhatpat policies. The same text is shown inside the app (Account → Legal & policies) and on our Google Play listing.

1. Who we are and what these Terms cover

Jhatpat ("Jhatpat", "we", "us", "our") is a brand of Yurix Ventures Private Limited, a company incorporated under the Companies Act, 2013 (CIN U62090UP2025PTC215977) with its registered office at Plot No. 73, Vishnu Lok, Kanpur Road, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh 226023, India. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Jhatpat mobile application, the website myjhatpat.com, our WhatsApp channel and every service booked through them (together, the "Platform").

By creating an account, placing a booking, or otherwise using the Platform you agree to these Terms and to the policies they refer to, which form part of them: the Privacy Policy, the Cancellation, Refund & Rescheduling Policy, the Grievance Redressal & Customer Support Policy, the Safety, Trust & Regulated Services Policy, the Cookie Policy, the Account & Data Deletion Policy and the Acceptable Use, Reviews & Community Policy. Partners are additionally bound by the Service Partner Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform. Your acceptance is an electronic contract under the Information Technology Act, 2000; no signature is needed.

2. Definitions

  • Customer — a person who books a Service through the Platform.
  • Partner — an independent service professional, shop, agency, recycler, NGO or other business that has been verified by Jhatpat and accepts bookings through the Platform (in partner mode of the same app).
  • Service — a listed offering in the Jhatpat catalogue, with its published scope, starting price and booking rules.
  • Booking — a confirmed request for a Service, identified by a booking ID, and every order, ride, trip, pickup, plan, case or request created through the Platform.
  • Jhatpat Assured — the service-standard and remedy programme described in section 11.

3. Eligibility and your account

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract under Indian law. A parent or lawful guardian may book a Service for a child; a Customer may book for another adult (a parent, for example) only with that person's authority. You need a valid Indian mobile number; we verify it with a one-time password (OTP) sent by SMS.

You are responsible for everything that happens under your account and for keeping your OTP private. Jhatpat staff and Partners will never ask for your OTP, UPI PIN, card PIN, CVV or banking password — anyone who does is not acting for Jhatpat, and you must not share them. One account may hold both a customer profile and a partner profile. Keep your name, addresses and contact numbers accurate; a Booking made with wrong details may be cancelled or charged as a no-show, and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.

4. What Jhatpat is — and is not

Jhatpat is a technology platform and an intermediary within the meaning of the Information Technology Act, 2000 and a marketplace e-commerce entity under the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020. We list Services, verify Partners, take bookings, process payments, provide live status, masked calling, customer support and the Jhatpat Assured programme.

The Service itself is performed by the Partner you are matched with. Partners are independent contractors — not employees, agents, franchisees or representatives of Yurix Ventures Private Limited — and are responsible for performing the Service with reasonable skill and care, for their staff, tools, vehicles, taxes and for holding every licence, permit and registration their trade requires. The Partner's name, photo, rating, verification badge and, for regulated Services, licence or registration reference are shown in the app before and during the Booking. Our verification of Partners (section 11) reduces risk; it is not a guarantee of any Partner's future conduct or of a particular outcome. Nothing in these Terms removes a responsibility that Jhatpat has under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or other applicable law.

We do not represent that every Service is available in every locality or at all times. Availability, arrival times and matching times are estimates and can change with traffic, weather, demand, Partner availability or safety conditions.

5. Regulated and higher-risk Services

Some Services are provided only by licensed third parties or carry additional rules, which are shown on the Service page before you book:

  • Security guards are supplied only by security agencies licensed under the Private Security Agencies (Regulation) Act, 2005 (PSARA), which assign, supervise and remain responsible for the guard. Vacation Home Watch is a periodic inspection-and-report service by a verified Partner; it is not continuous guarding, insurance, police protection or a guarantee against theft, fire, trespass or loss.
  • Insurance help (buy / review, renewal, claim assistance, policy service) is provided by IRDAI-registered insurance professionals who fulfil the Service under their own registration. Jhatpat is not an insurer, insurance intermediary, web aggregator, corporate agent or claims adjudicator, never collects premium, and does not promise issuance, coverage, premium, renewal, claim acceptance or settlement amount — the insurer decides.
  • E-waste and donation pickups are carried out by recyclers authorised by the CPCB / State Pollution Control Board and by registered NGOs respectively.
  • Buyback and scrap Services are provided by verified buyback Partners and scrap dealers who pay you directly through the Platform for the items they take.
  • Locksmith Services require the Partner to verify your identity and proof of residence before any lock is opened, and the Partner may refuse to proceed if they are not satisfied.
  • Home help, baby, kids and elder care Services are non-clinical. They do not include diagnosis, treatment, administering medicines, nursing, physiotherapy or emergency medical response. Hospital & doctor escort is an escort and coordination Service only.
  • Medicines are sold and dispensed by the licensed pharmacy you order from, under its own drug licence; Jhatpat only arranges pickup and delivery. Prescription medicines are supplied only against a valid prescription, which the pharmacy may verify or refuse.
  • Rides, drivers, courier and moves are performed by drivers and operators who must hold the documents and permits applicable to their vehicle and service under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and state rules. A transport category is enabled in a city only where it may lawfully operate.
  • Repairs involving LPG, mains electricity, geysers, chimneys or other hazards are performed only by Partners verified for that skill. A suspected gas leak, fire, sparking or exposed live wiring is an emergency: call your gas distributor's emergency line or 112 first; an ordinary Booking is not a substitute for emergency action.

Jhatpat is not an emergency service. For any immediate threat to life, safety or property, contact the official emergency services (112) first.

6. Bookings, scope and price

Every Service shows what is included, what is not, and a starting price for your city. The exact price for your address and selections is shown before you confirm; that price and the scope on the Service page form the contract for the Booking. Prices include GST where applicable and are shown in Indian Rupees. Prices may differ by city, hub, timing and the options you choose.

  • Time-based Services (home help, care) are billed on the booked duration. Extra time must be requested and approved in the app before it is added.
  • Repairs and visit-based Services charge a visit fee at booking. The Partner inspects and sends an itemised quote in the app (labour, parts, taxes); work starts only after you approve it, and the visit fee is adjusted in the final bill. If you decline the quote, the Booking closes at the visit fee.
  • Rides, courier and moves show a rate card (base fare + rate per km, plus waiting time after 5 minutes) and an estimate for the route. The final fare is metered on the actual route; if it stays within ±10% of the estimate you pay the estimate, otherwise the difference is charged or refunded automatically. Tolls and parking, where they apply, are shown separately.
  • Selling an item and scrap pickups work the other way round — money flows to you. You receive an expected quote or published rates before booking; the final offer or weighed amount is shown in the app at your door and paid only if you accept it. You may decline and keep your item at no charge.
  • Free pickups (e-waste, donation) have no charge and no payout.
  • Quotes for custom work (bridal mehendi, décor, custom photography, packages) become Bookings only when you approve the quote in the app.
  • Shop orders (milk, groceries, water, medicines, flowers) are supplied by the shop shown on the order, which is responsible for the goods, their quality, labelling and expiry. An unavailable item is refunded or substituted only with your approval.

Work outside the published scope needs a new Booking or an in-app quote. Partners are not permitted to take cash or arrange work outside the Platform, and you agree not to ask them to; Jhatpat Assured does not cover work arranged off-platform.

7. Parts, materials and warranties

Parts, consumables and materials may be supplied by you, the Partner or a shop, as shown in the Booking. Parts supplied through a Partner are itemised in the quote and carry the manufacturer's or seller's warranty on its own terms; keep the invoice and packaging. Jhatpat does not manufacture, sell or warrant parts or goods. A re-do period shown for a Service applies only to the stated scope and workmanship, not to parts, pre-existing defects, misuse or work done by others.

8. Payment

Bookings are prepaid through our payment partner Razorpay (UPI, cards, net banking, wallets) or the Jhatpat wallet when you confirm; you authorise the amount shown at checkout and any later amount you expressly approve in the app. The only amounts a Partner may collect from you directly are an approved repair-quote balance and a ride you have marked as cash before accepting. Amounts payable to you (scrap, buyback) are paid to your UPI ID or Jhatpat wallet from the Partner's float held with Jhatpat.

Wallet credits, referral rewards and promotional credits are non-transferable, have no cash value except where they originate from a refund or a payout, and may expire on the date shown in the app. Where a payment fails, is reversed or is charged back, the Booking is not confirmed or may be cancelled, and any amount already owed remains payable. We do not store full card details or UPI PINs; Razorpay handles them under its own terms.

9. Cancellation, rescheduling and refunds

You may cancel or reschedule free of charge until one hour before the slot start, and until a Partner is assigned for instant bookings. After that, the cancellation fee shown in the app applies because a Partner is already assigned or on the way. If a Partner does not arrive within the promised window and no replacement is offered, the Booking is refunded in full. Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 5–7 working days of approval, or instantly to the Jhatpat wallet if you choose. The full rules — including no-shows, repairs, rides, shop orders, subscriptions and failed or duplicate payments — are in the Cancellation, Refund & Rescheduling Policy.

10. Your responsibilities

You agree to: provide an accurate address and a safe, lawful and reasonably accessible working environment; be present (or nominate an adult who is) at the start of the Service; share the 4-digit start code only when the Partner is at your door; keep valuables, cash and documents secure; disclose hazards relevant to the work and keep children and pets away from work areas; obtain any society or landlord permission the work needs; for locksmith Services carry a government ID and proof of residence; for buyback of phones and laptops back up your data, sign out of your accounts and remove locks before handover (the Partner will otherwise reset the device in front of you and cannot leave with your data); for baby, kids and elder care give accurate instructions, emergency contacts and any allergy or mobility information the carer needs; not ask a Partner to do unlawful, unsafe or out-of-scope work, to falsify invoices or to bypass safety rules; treat Partners with respect and without discrimination or harassment; and report any issue within 24 hours through Help & support.

11. Jhatpat Assured — service standards and remedies

Every Partner is identity-verified (government ID, live selfie, and where required police verification, licence or registration checks) and trained on the Jhatpat standard. Every Booking has a fixed scope, a start code, live status and masked calling.

If the published scope is not met, report it within 24 hours of the Booking ending, with photos where relevant. After reviewing the job record (checklist, photos, timings, chat and call metadata captured in the app) we will, at our discretion, arrange a re-do at no cost or refund the affected part of the Booking. If a Partner damages your property in the course of a Booking, report it within 24 hours with photos; we will coordinate the Partner's response and may facilitate repair, replacement or compensation, whose value will not exceed the amount you paid for that Booking except where the law requires otherwise. Jhatpat Assured is a platform remedy programme, not an insurance policy, warranty or guarantee of outcome, and it does not cover issues reported late, work arranged off-platform, pre-existing damage, or losses caused by inaccurate instructions or unsafe conditions at the location. Ratings are collected after every Booking and are used to match and rank Partners.

12. Reviews, photos and other content you provide

You may submit ratings, reviews, photos, voice notes, documents and instructions. They must be truthful, relevant, lawful and yours to share; do not upload another person's ID, health record, image or private conversation unless the Booking needs it and you have their authority. You keep ownership of your content and grant Yurix Ventures Private Limited a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce, adapt and display it to operate, improve and promote Jhatpat, subject to the Privacy Policy. We may moderate, hide or remove content that breaches the Acceptable Use, Reviews & Community Policy or the law, and may preserve or disclose it where the law requires.

13. Partners

Partners accept the Service Partner Terms when they apply. In summary: Partners are independent contractors who choose their own hours, radius and skills; they must complete verification and training before going live, keep their documents valid, use only the Platform to communicate with and receive payment from Customers, start every job with the Customer's start code, follow the scope and checklist, never collect cash except as permitted in section 8, and maintain the safety, hygiene and conduct standards published in the partner training. Payouts are made weekly to the Partner's UPI ID or bank account after deducting Platform fees, cash collected, statutory deductions and any penalties or Customer refunds attributable to the Partner. Partners of regulated types must hold and maintain the licences and registrations stated on their profile; Jhatpat may pause or end a Partner's access when a licence lapses, ratings fall below the published threshold, or the Partner Terms are breached.

14. Prohibited conduct

You may not use the Platform to: book Services for unlawful purposes; harass, threaten, stalk, discriminate against or sexually harass any Partner, Customer or staff member; make false bookings, reports, reviews or claims; attempt to pay or receive payment outside the Platform or solicit a Partner off-platform; send prohibited items by courier (weapons, explosives, hazardous chemicals, drugs, stolen goods, cash or high-value valuables, live animals, or anything the Platform marks as restricted); scrape, copy, reverse-engineer, probe, overload or interfere with the Platform; create accounts with false identities or for another person without authority; abuse promotions or referrals; or resell access to the Platform. The Acceptable Use, Reviews & Community Policy has the full list.

15. Promotions and referrals

Offers, coupons, credits and referral rewards may carry their own eligibility, validity, city, Service and usage conditions shown in the app. They have no cash value unless expressly stated, cannot be combined unless stated, and may be withdrawn or reversed in cases of fraud, abuse, multiple accounts or an obvious error, subject to applicable law.

16. Intellectual property

The Jhatpat name, logo, app, website, illustrations, content, service taxonomy and software are owned by or licensed to Yurix Ventures Private Limited and protected by Indian and international law. You receive a limited, personal, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the app and website for their intended purpose. Feedback you send us may be used without obligation to you.

17. Third-party services

The Platform relies on third-party services including Razorpay (payments and payouts), Google Maps and Google Play services (maps, location, push notifications), Firebase (authentication, crash reporting and analytics), Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform and SMS gateways (messages), DigiLocker and verification providers (KYC), and cloud infrastructure providers. Their terms apply to their services. Links to third-party websites or apps are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their content, availability or practices.

18. Availability and changes to the Platform

We aim to keep the Platform available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. Features, Services, catalogue, prices, coverage and Partner availability may change, and we may carry out maintenance, safety checks, fraud checks or service-area changes at any time.

19. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, Yurix Ventures Private Limited disclaims all warranties not expressly stated in these Terms, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Yurix Ventures Private Limited is not liable for: indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive losses, loss of profit, business, goodwill or data; the acts or omissions of Partners, shops, third-party providers, insurers or drivers beyond the remedies in section 11; losses caused by your unlawful conduct, inaccurate instructions, unsafe conditions at the location, unauthorised use of your account or events outside our reasonable control; or any matter reported later than the periods in section 11. Our total aggregate liability for any Booking, however arising, is limited to the amount you paid for that Booking. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under Indian law, including your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, or liability for fraud or wilful misconduct.

20. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify Yurix Ventures Private Limited, its directors, employees and Partners against claims, losses, penalties and expenses (including reasonable legal costs) arising from your breach of these Terms, your unlawful or fraudulent use of the Platform, prohibited items or instructions, or your violation of any law or third-party right. This clause does not require you to indemnify us for our own negligence, breach of law or unfair trade practice.

21. Force majeure

Neither party is liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond its reasonable control — including natural disasters, floods, extreme weather, epidemics, strikes, curfews, government orders, internet or telecom failure, or failure of a third-party provider — provided reasonable steps are taken to resume performance. Prepaid amounts for a Booking that cannot be performed for such a reason are refunded under section 9.

22. Suspension and termination

You may delete your account at any time from Account → Delete account in the app, on myjhatpat.com/delete-account/, or by writing to jhatpat@gmail.com; open Bookings are completed or cancelled under section 9 first, and the Account & Data Deletion Policy applies. We may suspend, restrict or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, present a safety risk, are used for fraud, abuse or repeated non-payment, or where the law requires, and may refuse Service where we reasonably consider it unsafe. Where appropriate and required by law we will give notice and a reasonable opportunity to seek review through the Grievance Officer. Sections 7, 12, 16, 19, 20, 24, 25 and 27 survive termination.

23. Grievance redressal

In line with the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, complaints may be addressed to our Grievance Officer:

Grievance Officer — Anmol Mishra, Yurix Ventures Private Limited, Plot No. 73, Vishnu Lok, Kanpur Road, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh 226023 · jhatpat@gmail.com · +91 87569 92565

Complaints are acknowledged within 24 hours and resolved within 15 days of receipt, or such shorter time as the law requires. For an active Booking, Help & support in the app (WhatsApp, call-back or chat, 8 am – 10 pm) is the fastest route. The Grievance Redressal & Customer Support Policy describes the process and escalation. Nothing in these Terms restricts your right to approach a consumer commission, regulator or court.

24. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 to approach the consumer commission of your choice, the courts at Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms or the Platform. Before starting formal proceedings we encourage you to contact the Grievance Officer so the matter can be reviewed and, where possible, resolved promptly.

25. General

These Terms and the policies they refer to are the entire agreement between you and us about the Platform. If any provision is held invalid, the rest remains in force. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign your rights under these Terms; we may assign them to a successor of the Jhatpat business on notice to you. Notices to you may be given in the app, by SMS, WhatsApp or email to the details on your account; notices to us go to the address in section 27. These Terms are written in English; a Hindi or other translation is for convenience and the English text prevails.

26. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Platform grows or the law changes. Material changes are announced in the app and on myjhatpat.com at least 7 days before they take effect; the effective date at the top of this page is updated each time. Continued use after that date means you accept the updated Terms.
