Account & Data Deletion Policy.
How to delete your Jhatpat account and data, what is deleted and what the law makes us keep.
Yurix Ventures Private Limited · CIN U62090UP2025PTC215977 · Version 1.0 · Effective 16 September 2026
Delete your Jhatpat account from the app (Account → Delete account) or by emailing jhatpat@gmail.com from your registered number or email. Your account and personal data are deleted within 30 days; only the records that tax, payment and dispute law require us to keep are retained, separately and for the stated period.
One of the ten Jhatpat policies that form part of the Terms of Service. The same text is shown inside the app (Account → Legal & policies) and on our Google Play listing.
1. How to request deletion
- In the app — Account → Delete account. Confirm on the sheet that follows; the app lists any open bookings or wallet balance first.
- On the web — this page is the deletion request point for the Jhatpat app on Google Play. Email jhatpat@gmail.com with the subject "Delete my account" from the email or mobile number registered on the account, or call +91 87569 92565, and we will start the process.
Deleting the app, logging out or turning off notifications does not delete your account; use one of the routes above.
2. Verification
We confirm that the request comes from the account holder with an OTP to the registered mobile number, or an equivalent check, before anything is deleted. This protects you from someone else deleting your account.
3. What happens next
- Open bookings are completed or cancelled under the Cancellation, Refund & Rescheduling Policy, and any wallet balance that came from a refund or a payout is returned to your UPI ID.
- Within 30 days your account is closed and the personal data linked to it — profile, saved addresses, photos, voice notes, chat, notification tokens, analytics identifiers — is deleted or de-identified.
- You receive a confirmation on the registered number or email when deletion is complete.
- A deleted account cannot be restored; a new account can be created later with the same number, but bookings, ratings and credits do not carry over.
4. What we must keep, and for how long
Indian law requires some records to be kept even after deletion. They are stored separately from your account, are not used for any other purpose, and are deleted when the period ends:
| Record | Retained for | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Booking, invoice, payment, refund and payout records | 8 years after the transaction | Companies Act, 2013 and tax law |
| Records of a dispute, safety incident or legal matter | Until it is closed, then 12 months | Establishing, exercising or defending legal claims |
| Fraud and security signals (device identifier, blocked numbers) | 3 years | Preventing abuse and repeat fraud |
| Grievance tickets | 12 months after closure | IT Rules, 2021 |
5. Partner accounts
Partner profiles are deleted on the same 30-day timeline. Verification documents are kept for 3 years after deactivation for dispute and regulatory purposes (Aadhaar numbers are never stored in full), and payout, GST and TDS records for 8 years. A partner with a pending payout, an open dispute or an unreturned float is paid out or settled before deletion completes.
6. Deleting data without closing the account
You can delete saved addresses, photos and voice notes from the booking or from Account at any time, turn off optional permissions in your device settings, and turn off promotional messages in Account → Notifications. Data-rights requests (access, correction, erasure of specific data, withdrawal of consent) go to jhatpat@gmail.com and are answered within 30 days under the Privacy Policy.
